Directions to the Executive Building, 615 Washington Road, Pittsburgh PA, Mt. Lebanon Township

General Access:
From the east, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Route 22 or Route 30 to the Penn Lincoln Parkway East (Route 376) to the Blvd. of the Allies to the Liberty Tubes.  (about thirty minutes from Monroeville Exit of the Turnpike)

From the west, take Route 60 to the Penn Lincoln Parkway West (I-279) to I-79 to the Kirwan Heights Exit or stay on I-279 to the Carnegie Exit of the Parkway.

From the north, take I-79 to I-279 to the Fort Pitt Tunnel or Route 28 or Route 8 to Route28 to Route 579 (across the Veterans’ Bridge) to the Liberty Bridge and Tunnel.  (about thirty minutes from Wexford Exit of I-79)

From the south, take Route 51 or Route 19 to Truck Route 19 to my office or I-79 to the Kirwan Heights Exit (55).

From The Fort Pitt Tunnel
(distance, 4 miles):
Take the first exit after leaving the tunnel, Banksville Road, which is Route 19.  Stay on Route 19 South.  When you see a large swimming pool on your left, get into the left lane.  Just ahead, at the light by the A.B. Charles Hobby Shop (looks like a big red barn), bear left up the hill onto McFarland Road.  (You are leaving Route 19 at this point and are about one mile from my office.)  At the top of the hill, the road dead ends at the light.  Make a very sharp right onto Washington Road.  Continue one-half mile, and you will see the Executive Building on your left.

From the Liberty Tubes (distance 3 miles):
Be in the left lane coming through the tunnel, and as you exit, go straight up West Liberty Avenue.  As you approach the 3200 block, watch for South Hills Nissan and Jamie’s Restaurant on your right.  About two blocks farther, the street name will change to Washington Road.  When you pass Bower Hill Road, on the right, you are about three-tenths of a mile from the Executive Building which will be on your left.

From Route 51 to Route 88:
Turn right at McNeilly Road and follow it until it dead ends on Pioneer Avenue.  A left turn onto Pioneer will bring you quickly to West Liberty Avenue where you turn left again.  Then follow the directions immediately above.

From the Kirwan Heights Exit (55) of I-79
(distance, 4.5 miles):
The exit dead ends at Route 50.  Turn left onto Route 50 and go about 1.2 miles to where you will see a King’s Restaurant on your left just before the light.  Turn right at the light onto Greentree Road.  At the light by the Virginia Manor Shops, which will be on your right, bear right onto Cochran Road.  Follow Cochran Road to Bower Hill Road where you will turn left.  Bower Hill will dead end at Washington Road across from St. Bernard’s Church, a very large, tan stone edifice.  Turn right, and the Executive Building will be three-tenths of a mile on your left.

From the Carnegie Exit of the Parkway
:
As you come off the exit ramp get into the left lane.  At the first light (a small synagogue is on the corner), turn left onto Chestnut and continue through the next light and up the hill.  Chestnut will become Forsythe Road.  Stay on Forsythe until it dead ends at Greentree Road (Slater Funeral Home to your left).  Turn right onto Greentree Road.  Immediately after you pass a little strip mall on your right, Greentree Road will turn right, but you need to bear straight ahead a short distance to where you will dead end at the Virginia Manor Shops on Cochran Road.  Turn left and follow the directions from Virginia Manor that are above in the directions from the Kirwan Heights Exit of I-79.

From Route 19, Washington Road

Pass South Hills Village Mall. (You are 2.8 miles away.)  Continue straight north on Route 19 until you approach Cochran Road which will be to your left.  Stay in the right lane and go straight ahead onto Truck Route 19.  (Route 19 will turn left down Cochran Road.)  Continue on Truck 19.  When you see a large municipal parking garage on your right, you are about a long block from the Executive Building which is on your right.

Parking Information

Street meters: They operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (some only to 5) and are monitored very closely.  They take dimes and quarters, ten minutes per dime and twenty minutes per quarter.  They only have two hours on the dial, but you can return and add money.  They do not operate on Sunday.

Municipal parking garage: This is about a block south of the Executive Building opposite Cedar Boulevard.  One to two hours is $2.25, and an attendant collects the fee.  On Saturday, you may park all day for one dollar.

Small metered outdoor municipal lot: This is right by the building but has only twenty spaces and is often full.

Large outdoor municipal lot: a new lot is just down Academy Avenue (right opposite the Executive Building entrance). It has a pay machine rather than meters.  Parking is a dollar an hour.  The machine takes coins or one, five and ten dollar bills.  IT DOES NOT GIVE CHANGE.  It also takes Visa and Master Card.

Unmetered street parking:
This is on a number of the side streets if you don’t mind a little walking.  Limits are two or three hours.
